• Solution: Development of an enzyme secretion system to allow direct lyophilization of fermentation supernatants
We generated a panel of microbial expression strains with vectors containing a secretion tag. Fermentation was carried out to confirm presence and activity in the broth with cellular material removed. A DSP method was then developed which enabled lyophilised enzyme to be isolated directly from the fermentation broth.
